शिवछत्रपतिंच्यामुळे आज आपण हिंदू म्हणून राहीलो आणि हिंदूचे सण साजरे करू शकत आहोत. दिवाळीच्या वेळी आपण आपल्या घरोघरी दिव्यांची रोशनाई करतो सगळा परीसर उजळून काढतोच ना? मग शिवतिर्थ किल्ले रायगडाच काय? तिथे कोण लावतात दिवे? कोण करतय का रोषणाई ?
भर दिवाळीत राजांची राजधानी असलेल्या किल्ले रायगडवरील सिंहासन, नगारखाना, होळीचा माळ, राजदरबार अंधारात असायचे, परंतू गेली सात वर्ष श्री शिवराज्याभिषेक दिनोत्सव सेवा समिती, दुर्गराज रायगड किल्ले रायगडावर दिवाळीच्या वसुबारसेच्या दिवशी शिवचैतन्य सोहळा आयोजित करत आली आहे. यंदा रविवार दि. १५ ऑक्टोबर च्या रात्री व १६ ऑक्टोबर च्या सकाळी  शिवचैतन्य सोहळा आयोजित केला आहे. शिवचैतन्य सॊहळा म्हणजे श्रीशिवराजाभिषेकास जितकी वर्ष झाली तितक्या मशाली गडावर लावून महाराजांना मानवंदना देणे.  पहिला दिवा राजांच्या सिंहासनाला आणि पहिली पणती महादरवाजाला, नगारखान्याला लावली जाते. पहीला कंदील त्या रायगडाला.
